A lot of people start their weight loss journey with good intentions, a new pair of trainers and a clear vision of what their future self will look like in those new garms! Only problem is they’ve started this healthy eating expedition armed with limited to zero real knowledge of nutrition or dietary requirements.
Preparation is paramount in making sure you succeed and achieve your physical goal. In the spirit of preparation, here are five fat burning supplements to add to your nutritional arsenal.
1. Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother
The raw, unfiltered version of apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid which helps your body reduce fat storage, increase fat burning, improve blood sugar and insulin response as well as reducing appetite. In a study published in Biochemistry, people lost an average of 4 pounds in 12 weeks after consuming 1-2 tablespoons of diluted raw apple cider vinegar daily.
Weight loss tip - try to get this done first thing in the morning, 1 tablespoon mixed in a glass of normal or sparkling water. It’s not the nicest tasting, (people on my rhythms & patterns method will relate to this!) but the benefits outweigh the bad taste!
I use either this one or Bragg’s but any is fine, just make sure it has ‘the mother’.
2. White Tea
The healthiest of all teas! Black, white and green tea are all produced from the same plant but at different times of growth. White tea is the least processed with by far the highest nutritious content and the highest level of antioxidants. It also stimulates lipolysis - the fat burning process, excess fats are quickly burnt and the result…. stripping extra weight.
Happy sipping! With vanilla. With strawberry. With peony. With cucumber and lime. Or if you have a Chinese supermarket near you, head over as they usually have a good selection for a fraction of the price.
3. Coconut oil
This has definitely made its way into the ‘Superfood’ list! It has a very unique combination of fatty acids that have awesome effects on your health. Besides the cosmetic benefits to your hair, skin and dental health, we have fat loss, better brain function, more energy, raises good HDL cholesterol in your blood which is linked to reducing heart disease risk, the list goes on and on so do yourself a favour and get this on your shopping list!!
Weight loss tip - make sure you have 1 teaspoon of this right before your first meal of the day to encourage your body to burn fat, not sugar.
You can get this in most supermarkets, and don’t be alarmed, it’s in a solid state at room temperature and liquidises as it warms up. Alternatively, get it on prime.
The liver plays a major part in the fat burning process and dehydration decreases the livers fat burning ability. Hydrated liver = regulated fat loss and a lot more energy so make sure you’re consuming that water!
Weight loss tip - water suppresses your appetite so try drinking 1-2 glasses before you eat to shed some pounds.
5. Sparkling Water & Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
A refreshing thirst quencher of a drink. There are numerous benefits to this concoction so let me break both ingredients down for you.
Lemon juice aids digestion, supports weight loss and helps with detoxification.
Sparkling water is a healthier alternative to fizzy drinks. If you’re struggling to drop sodas & coke from your diet I strongly recommend you to transition to sparkling mineral water.
